AQUINO, SPRINGFIELD DEMOCRATS DRAW REPUBLICAN-EXTERMINATION MAP

Political power is not a concept but a reality. It is a means to an end, which is control and aggrandizement. It is taking what you or your side wants, plain and simple.Optimistic, or maybe just delusional, national Democrats desperately want that 15D-2R Illinois delegation in 2023. That's two more Democrats and three less Republicans. It probably won't matter. What Hispanics want is a second minority-influenced district. And what state senator Omar Aquino (D-2) wants is that congressional seat. Those concepts can become a reality if the Democrats' map, drawn and approved by Aquino's committee, gets passed by the Democratic legislature, which is 41D-18R (Senate) and 73D-45R (House), with a Democratic governor. Power is meant to be used. And it is. Full Article...

BILLIONAIRES BATTLE AND MONEYMATTERS IN UPCOMING 2022 CONTESTS

It is a political maxim that money talks and (expletive) walks. The adjoining 2021 fund-raising chart shows who is NOT walking as the 2022 and 2023 election cycles approach. The COVID-19 pandemic put a serious crimp into 2020 fund-raising, which has abated somewhat during 2021. In-person events are only slowly re-emerging. Illinois' campaign disclosure law requires quarterly reports by all candidates, committees and incumbents, known as D-2s. A review of the 3rd quarter (July 1-Sept. 30) had several highlights.Attached is a FUNDRAISING CHART detailing 2021 receipts and cash-on-hand as of 9/30/21. Full Article...

72 DEMOCRATIC SUPPLICANTS TREK TO PARTY PRE-SLATING

Blessed are those who expect nothing for they shall not be disappointed. That will be on display Oct. 14 to 15 at the Cook County Democrats' biennial pre-slating session. With 72 people aspiring for 31 offices, there will be an abundance of nothing, especially among the 40 lawyers who want the one Appellate Court and 10 Circuit Court vacancies. Already disappointed are sheriff Tom Dart and assessor Fritz Kaegi, who both expected no opposition either at slate making or in the June 28 primary. Kaegi has a more dire predicament. Kari Steele, the president of the Metropolitan Water Rec-lamation District (MWRD), is challenging him. Pre-slating commences the 2022 political process. It is a dog and pony show at which those 72 petitioners trek before the 80 Democratic ward and township committeepersons to present their credentials in-person at IBEW Hall on the near South Side. Each will get 15 minutes - 5 to extol their virtues and hype their identity, and 10 to answer questions. With time over-runs and breaks, that amounts to 25 30 hours of self-hype. Full Article...

VP HARRIS'S HIBERNATION MAY HAVE LONGTERM BENEFIT FOR 2024 -- OR MAYBE NOT

Kamala Harris was supposed to be the "co-president" or the "real" president. She was supposed to be pulling the strings of the 78-year old actual president and she was supposed to be the heir apparent in 2024. That's proving to be a bunch of nonsense. What is a certainty is that Harris is on a trajectory to be ranked right down there with Dan Quayle among inconsequential contemporary vice-presidents. She is essentially missing-in-action, albeit involuntarily. It's no longer the Biden-Harris administration. It's more like the Biden-Blinken-Austin-Rice-Pelosi-Schumer administration.  Full Article...
