RATING ILLINOIS' GOVERNORS: PLENTY OF RAPSCALLIONS AND REPROBATES

Tina Turner sang "You're simply the best. Better than all the rest. Better than anyone. Anyone I've ever met ... You're simply the best." One thing is for sure, she wasn't singing about Illinois' 43 governors, of which about two-thirds were simply not the best, mediocre like most of the rest, and nearly a quarter were outright rapscallions, which is defined as a rascal, a rogue or a reprobate - someone of dubious ethics and/or negligible integrity. Among them were also liars, embezzlers, frauds, thieves and cheats. Attached is a CHART listing the best and worst governors. Full Article...

RANKING ILLINOIS' U.S. SENATORS: DUCKWORTH BETTER THAN MOST, BUT SHE DOESN'T HAVE MUCH COMPETITION

Just as in the financial market, where certain stocks and investments are stinkers, clinkers and clunkers, so too have been more than half of Illinois voters' choices of elected statewide officials, particularly among the 52 U.S. senators who served since the place was admitted as a state in 1818. There have been a bunch of mediocrities and non-entities. Since 1850 a total of 24 senators have served one term or less, or were appointed and then defeated, or were expelled or not seated, or just served time and retired. What a grand legacy. Here is an analysis of the best and the worst. Full Article...

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED: DEMOCRATS PURGE WENDT AT BD. OF REVIEW TO MAKE WAY FOR ALD. CARDENAS

"I'm being disrespected," lamented newly elected county Board of Review (BOR) commissioner Tammy Wendt (D). To be correct, Democrat Wendt's district has been dumped and purged. I can see why she feels this way. That reminds me of the ancient proverb that no good deed goes unpunished. Wendt in 2020 defeated 10-year incumbent Dan Patlak (R) by 30,000 votes, riding on the coattails of Biden-Harris, which won Cook County by more than 500,000 votes. The 1st District encompasses only one-third of the county, but the Trump undertow was enough to drown Patlak. Wendt was a Democrat in a Democratic year, and being a woman helped. She raised only $20,000 and has cash-on-hand of $6,624. Patlak raised and spent close to $800,000.If I was woke and politically correct, I would sputter and shout that the Democrats' purge of Wendt is sexist. Apparently, dumping a White woman in favor of a Hispanic man is now quite OK in the world of Democratic identity politics. It's just politics as usual, I guess. SEE MAP ATTACHED Full Article...
