FOXX'S SMOLLETT FIASCO JEOPARDIZES 2020 RE-ELECTION HOPES
Recusal, refusal, excusal. That describes the impending political trajectory of Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx, whose handling of the Jussie Smollett affair rates somewhere between sub-standard and unforgivably disastrous. The CCSA's job is to put perps in jail, not keep them out. She's not the Public Defender. Foxx's policy is to keep non-violent offenders out. Smollett may have been non-violent, but hoaxing a hate crime deserves some punishment. Foxx let him go -- no conviction, no apology. Foxx will pay a political price in 2020. HISPANIC CONQUISTADORS GARCIA, ARROYO, GUTIERREZ BUNGLE 2019 ELECTIONS
Chicago's Hispanic population is 800,000-plus, so how did Susana Mendoza get a measly 50,373 (9.1%) votes in the 2/26 primary? And Gery Chico 354,521? First, it's because Hispanics DON'T VOTE. Second, it's because the Hispanic political bosses -- the Chapucero Conquistadors Chuy Garcia, Luis Arroyo and Luis Gutierrez -- make BAD DECISIONS and back losers. Garcia made 11 endorsements in aldermanic races, AND 7 LOST -- the most egregious being his failure to take out Ed Burke..Gutierrez could not get his daughter elected alderman, and Arroyo could not get his ally Millie Santiago re-elected alderman..Third, turnout in the 14 Hispanic-majority wards barely eclipsed 100,000, even though there are over 360,000 registered voters. There is a chasm between traditional Hispanics and "democratic socialists," who won aldermanic seats in the 35th, 33rd, 40th, 25th and 1st wards. It will get more pronounced over time. PRECKWINKLE'S MASSIVE LOSS WAS SYMBOLIC REJECTION, NOT REPUDIATION
Politicians are rejected by voters for what they represent; they are repudiated for what they have done. Toni Perckwinkle's massive 384,395-137,141 mayoral runoff loss to Lori Lightfoot was a SYMBOLIC REJECTION. Voters wanted to send a message, and she was the messenger. Prckwinkle got 26.3%.. She upped her 2/26 vote from 89,343 to 137,141, while Lightfoot upped her vote from 97,667 to 384,395. Turnout was down from 556,758 to 524,603. 67.1% of registered Chicagoans did not vote. There was both rejection and repudiation in the aldermanic runoffs. Analyzed are outcomes in the 39th, 40th, 33rd, 47th, 30th and 31st wards. Full Article...

TRUMP'S PROBLEMS PALE IN COMPARISON TO NETANYAHU'S
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netayahu, whose Likud majority faces a tough test on 4/9, has problems which make President Trump look like a Boy Scout. Netanyahu is facing an indictment after a two-year investigation, and is accused of bribery, fraud and breach of trust. Netanyahu has reacted in a Trump-like manner, calling media stories about him "fake news," and asserting that Israel is the "home of Jews alone." Historically, that's not true.
